Loyiso

Loyiso first tasted success with the release of his EP Musukukhala whose moving lyrics coupled with the passionate rendition, endeared him to women and custodians of home-grown talent who were pleasantly stunned at the depth of his emotion. By the time he unleashed the single Silky Soft Skin, the converted music lovers were already sold. The album seals what music lovers already know. Loyiso is not your one hit wonder flash-in-the pan kinda dude. His talent, personality and tenacity, is sure to propel him to the top in this dog eat dog industry. His unorthodox upbringing in Uitenhage where he was part of a quartet with his parents and sister, has made him confident. "Music became the cornerstone of my life from an early age. That's why I entered the Shell Road to Fame Talent Search at the age of six" he recalls. Though he bowed out in the finals, he nonetheless made an impression on Sizwe Zako who later became Rebecca Malope 's Producer. "When I turned 7, I recorded "Mama Come Back" on his Jam Session album."

After his brother 's successful entry into the previously exclusively white domain, Loyiso followed Zwai to the Drakensberg Boys Choir. After a six-year stint, he went to St Stithians College where he learnt the piano and music. "I was later invited to teach for a year before pursuing my Bachelor 's degree in Music through UNISA. Highlights of this luminary 's blossoming career include being the youngest conductor of the National Youth Choir in 2000 at 19, while working with the National Symphony. He is the recipient of the MTN Metro FM Music Award for Best R&B Artist and the winner of the South African Music Award for Best Newcomer and Best R&B Album.

Having travelled to over 16 countries out of Africa is a major feat in any language. Loyiso 's industry clout has helped, making him the envy of his peers. He has written music for a number of drama series and documentaries for Australian, Namibian and American producers. "I am committed to penning music and soundtracks" he says eagerly confirming that Zwai has been his mentor, teaching him a lot about writing, singing and producing. A committed Christian, Loyiso 's personality and character is equally enchanting. "I am a laid back kind of person who tries hard not to judge people when I first meet them. I am more relaxed now that I know I don't have to prove anything. Learning from others can be an equally enriching experience, I've discovered." "Music is serious business; its success can only be measured by hard work. People should try their best. Young people shouldn't rely on their parents' wealth but rather go out there and prove their worth." "In five years I want to run a successful company, which will enrich the youth. Attaching a music school to that will be great because the greatest joy is in making music together." "My dream is to travel the world and be able to turn on the radio and hear my music being played and loved…"
